The 2020 Empty Bowls Charity Event benefits Halifax Urban Ministries in its efforts to fight hunger in our community. Enjoy lunch featuring signature soups provided by local restaurants served in beautiful ceramic bowls created by local artist students--and take home a bowl of your choice! Plus live music, raffles and prized, a silent auction and tours.
Your ticket includes:
- Ceramic bowl created by local art students
- Delicious hot soups from 10 local restaurants.
- Salad, bread and a soft drink, water or tea and treats.

What is "Empty Bowls?" The Empty Bowls concept was started in 1990 by a Michigan high school art teacher, to help students raise funds to support a local food drive. What evolved was a class project to make ceramic bowls for a fundraising meal. Guests were served a simple meal of soup and invited to keep the bowl as a reminder of hunger in the world.
